Samrat CHATTERJEE
Correspondent (Calcutta)

My journey with IndianFootball.Com started about two years back when my nephew, Swagatam, convinced me to use my digicam to provide some pictures showing the effect of the World Cup fever in Calcutta. Being an enthusiastic fan of FIFA World Cups since my childhood, the decision to agree to tour the streets of Calcutta capturing the magic of football was a spontaneous one. Of course, being a supporter of Germany in World Cups (no, I didn’t know Arunava or Chris at that point of time), it was quite difficult sending in pictures of Brazilian flags by dozens and I strained my eyes to spot at least one German flag. Nevertheless, it was a small but determined step towards a strong bonding with IndianFootball.Com as I became their Calcutta correspondent. Although I was designated as a correspondent, I preferred to capture the glimpses of Indian football with my digicam and provide Indians all around the world a visual impression of the changing face of football in India. Accommodating sports journalism with my profession as a Microbiology lecturer has been difficult at times but ultimately, my love for football has always triumphed over the necessities of a busy schedule. On the tenth anniversary of IFC, I wish to thank all the visitors for providing us the support and inspiration to spread Indian football to all corners of the world. Your unwavering support will certainly inspire us to greater heights as we continue to football you for years to come.
