PARAMESWARAN
Editor (Kerala)
It was in 2004 (to be exact Wednesday 4th February) I mailed the
IndianFootball.Com website’s Editor-in-Chief Arunava Chaudhuri
to know whether India’s first 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification
match will be covered by the website and I was thinking that my
mail will be dumped in the basket but to my amazement the Editor-in-chief
personally gave me a reply by saying that there will be live updates
of the match on their website. And a year passed and that year Kerala
had State Bank of Travancore participating in the National Football
League and I was excited to see their performance in the league.
I depended much on the website and was a regular visitor of the
website to get updated scorers of their matches. During my visits
I found something strange like missing player names, officials name
etc as S.B.T played their home matches in Calicut I offered them
my help to sort out the issue and they accepted it.
After the National Football League I covered the State Club Championship,
the State League, the Senior District League, etc for the website
and from June 1, 2005 I was officially appointed as the Correspondent
from “God’s own Country”. When I joined the team
there were only four members in the team including the founder Arunava
Chaudhuri and Creative Head Chris Punnakkattu Daniel there was a
Correspondent from Mumbai Sujay Sharma and from Mecca of Indian
Football, CalCutta Abhishek Gujral. From then five members in 2005
we have grown to a strong 19 member team in 2008 and are spreading
almost all over the country plus even abroad.
Joining IndianFootball.Com was one of my life’s turning points.
I always believed that when you are determined and work hard for
a cause you will taste success and that’s what exactly happened
to me while working with IndianFootball.Com. During these years
it was our team work that helped us to achieve the fruit of our
success. The biggest advantage while working with IndianFootball.Com
is that we are getting freedom as it helps one to work with less
pressure and be more confident. The best moment that I can recollect
is this year’s I-League final day where we did Live Updates
of the five matches being played at the same time and it proved
that “Impossible is nothing” if an organisation has
the necessary team spirit and co-ordination. For a 20 year old like
me it was the best experience in my life and I would like to thank
you especially to Arunava Chaudhuri and Chris Punnakkattu Daniel
for motivating and bringing out the best of me. We are like a family
which works for a common cause for the development of football in
the country. As Liverpool fans says ‘U will Never Walk Alone’.
Yes once you are with IndianFootball.Com you will surely not. |
