3rd OIL Challenge Gold Cup 2008: from 30.January upto 9.February 2008 in Duliajan, Assam

The 3rd OIL Challenge Gold Cup Football Tournament was held by Oil India Limited at the oil township of Duliajan in Assam. For many it would perhaps be just another football tournament being held in a remote part of the country with possibly negligible impact on the game as a whole. However for those who are aware of the fact that the NorthEast is recognized as "football gold mine," the 3rd OIL Challenge Gold Cup is a very significant event that could in its own way go a long way in harnessing the tremendous potential of the naturally gifted football players of the region. To promote football in this region and to enable talent to be spotted Oil India Limited is organising the tournament.
