IFA-Calcutta Super Division 1998:
The format of the Calcutta Super Division was changed this year! The 10-team league played a
first leg, in which all teams played against each other, then in the second leg, the league was divided into a top and a
bottom half. The top5 teams played for the title while the bottom5 played against each other to avoid relegation. In the
end East Bengal emerged champions, while Milan Bithee and Peerless were relegated to the 1st Division. Promotion to the
Super Division gained BNR and George Telegraph.
