IndianFootball.Com Interview: SUKHVINDER SINGH

IndianFootball.Com correspondent Nitin Pant yesterday (January 3) had the chance to catch-up with JCT Mills coach Sukhvinder Singh at the clubs team hotel in old Delhi about the upcoming 11th National League and the chances his club has in the league.

How well is the team prepared for the 11th NFL after the IFA Shield and Federation Cup performance?

We do not depend on the past season and earlier performances. We had a good performance in Durand Cup where we reached the finals and also in the Punjab squad which won the 61st Santosh Trophy most of the players were from our club.

How's the team planning going? Is everything according to the plans?

Yes, everything going accordingly with no injuries. The team's morale is high.

What do you expect from the team in regards to the NFL table standing this year?

It's difficult to predict at this stage but surely we will make an impact this year.

How do you feel playing in Delhi? And what do you think about the cold weather in Delhi at present?

It's a pleasure to play in the capital. And the cold weather is not a hurdle for JCT Mills.

You have been to Ambedkar Stadium today. What's your comment on the playing turf?

If the turf could have been of the same standard as it was in the Durand Cup in November 2006 it would have been better for the level of play and for the TV viewership purpose as well.

Thank you for talking to us at IndianFootball.Com!

the interview was conducted by Nitin Pant (January 3, 2007).
