Why Blame Cricket?

Its not Cricket to be blamed for the sponsorship deals that Indian Cricket get from top companies, I have been reading many times that apart from Cricket in India other sports are not being supported or sponsored by Companies, why blame Cricket or companies for it? I can understand Cricket is not getting results lately, but it is still a number one sports in India,

Lets think of promoting the other sports, unless and until there is some good results from other sports, the sponsors will not come, any company if wants to sponsor will obviously look out what mileage they will get in return out of it, if the sponsored team is not performing well, why will a company waste their money on nothing in return?

I will emphasize on football in India, just see the results of the Indian football team for the last two tours in Fiji and Pakistan, who will like to sponsor a team like this? We need to provide some good results for the sponsors to come to football, just have a look at Sania Mirza or Leander Paes or Mahesh Bupathi, these guys are providing results and the sponsors come to them and they don't go to the sponsors to sponsor them.

I know AIFF is trying its very best to promote football in India, but there should be also some efforts from the footballers and/or officials in India to help them to achieve their goals; don't wait everything will be done by AIFF or someone else, if you can do something little extra it will be good for your own self, for the future players and Indian football as a whole. Let the sponsors come begging to sponsor football teams in India and this can be done only with good extra ordinary consistent performances and we can do it, India has football talent in abundance, only need to be more ambitious.
