Inter & Arsenal to highlight football finance

Saturday, 30. January 2010 - IndianFootball.Com reporter
Inter Milan and Arsenal London will address football finance at the Soccerex European Forum on March 2/3, 2010.
Ernesto Paolillo (Managing Director, FC Internazionale Milano) will join Ivan Gazidis (CEO, Arsenal FC) to tackle the topical issue of football finance within the European game. Both speakers are highly respected in their fields and will speak with authority on how their clubs are financed and the impact UEFA's financial fair play initiative will have on the football industry.
A recent study by Europe's governing body on club finances prompted Gianni Infantino (General Secretary, UEFA) to reveal that he is concerned about the sustainability of the game. He commented: “We survey more than 650 clubs all over Europe, and found that 50 per cent of those clubs are making losses every year, and 20 per cent of them are making huge losses, spending 120 per cent of their revenue every year."
Ernesto Paolillo is widely recognised as one of football's leading financial experts and heads up the European Club Association's financial working group dedicated to addressing all issues related to club finance. Several Premier League clubs have come under further scrutiny about debt levels and there are concerns that many of them will fall short of the new UEFA financial regulations set to be implemented in the 2012-13 season. Ivan Gazidis will divulge how his club continues to operate in a financially sustainable manner.
Football finance will be high on the agenda at the Soccerex European Forum (2-3 March, Manchester) and will be discussed by leading officials and spokespersons from UEFA, European Club Association, Clubs and financial experts such as Deloitte.
