The Churchill Brothers trio of Odafe, Ogba Kalu and Arindam have been granted bail by the Mumbai police after paying a personal bond of Rs. 5,000 each.

Churchill Brothers captain and top striker Odafe Onyeka Okolie, midfielder Ogba Kalu Nnanna and India goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya were arrested on Tuesday night in Mumbai during the stopover of their SpiceJet flight from Goa to Kolkata for allegedly molesting an air hostess.

All three were booked for outraging the modesty of a woman, a bailable offence, and granted bail by the police.

The trio also underwent a medical test which proved that they were not inebriated.

The pilot took the decision after having a word with the crew to ensure the safety of crew and passengers, a decision which the pilot of an aircraft can take.

According to the airline other passengers also demanded action against the players for their inappropriate behaviour.

Odafe claimed that this incidence happened only because he is a foreigner.

Churchill Brothers officials claim that one of the male crew onboard even racially abused Odafe in the exchange of words after the incidence.

Churchill Brothers president Joaquim Alemao rushed across to Mumbai to stand by his team, who also defended his players against the accusations made by SpiceJet and their crew; while SpiceJet stands by their crew.
