Mohun Bagan AC will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the IFA Shield Final on July 29.

To commemorate this momentous occasion the "National Club of India" has decided to release a special cover designed by a young man named Roshan Prasad who hails from Sikkim.

It all started when Roshan showed his design to the Operations Manager of Mohun Bagan Club a few months back who in turn forwarded it to the General Secretary of the Club, Anjan Mitra.

A first look at the design was enough to impress the Mohun Bagan boss. He proposed some minor changes and Roshan got the go ahead from the club to get the necessary permission from the postal department to release the special cover.

Roshan Prasad told IndianFootball.com, "It's a huge honour for me as a sports philatelist to get this opportunity to design a special cover for Mohun Bagan which is not just a club but an institution. I would like to thank the officials of Mohun Bagan specially Anjan Sir."

Roshan Prasad is a National Level Sports Philatelist who collects stamps and other postal Stationeries. His special area of interest is football and cricket. But football has always occupied a special place in Roshan's heart as he hails from the football crazy state of Sikkim. He was recently awarded the Sapphire at the National Philatelic Exhibition held in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The Special Cover which Roshan has designed for Mohun Bagan features a photograph of the team which won the IFA Shield final on July 29, 1911 along with the Shield. The special cover will be released during the centenary celebrations which will held on July 29. This day is celebrated as the Mohun Bagan Day every year.
