After the semi final defeat against India, Bangladesh coach Shahidur Rahman Chowdury apologized from the supporters for the poor performance.

Chowdhury further added that they have to analyse the reason behind the poor display from the players.

“I am sorry for the fans. I hope that we would perform much better if given another chance.”

“I am disappointed of the team the same level as the fans.”

“I have nothing to say. Our boys were not good today. They (India) got one chance, they scored and they won the game.”

“I am very disappointed with the performance of my players. They were saying that they were 100% fit for the game. But I did not see that on the pitch. I saw something totally different.”

“I don’t understand what happened today.  I have to go back to the hotel and ask the boys the reason for the poor performance. We need to analyse the reason behind it.”

He also noted that the crowd disturbances were not of a big problem as it happens throughout the world. A lot of bottles filled with urine, water and other liquids and stones were thrown to the stadium during the final few minutes. The players, referees and other officials had to wait more than half an hour until the crowd was controlled.

“It is nothing new. It happens throughout the world. So it would not hurt the football in Bangladesh.”

Meanwhile, Indian coach Sukhvinder Singh, said that they players did a brilliant job today.

“The players did a brilliant job for us. We played according to our plan.”

“We did not allow them to play and we did not give them the start they wanted.”

“The home crowd also gave them the extra pressure, which was a plus point for us. So overall the boys did a great job for us today.”

Sunday’s final will be third final between Maldives and India in the SAFF championship. First it was in 1997 where India thrashed Maldives 5-1 and last year Maldives beat India 1-0.
