Mahesh Gawli & Samir Naik suspended

The AIFF has suspended Dempo duo Mahesh Gawli and Samir Naik indefinitely for missing the currently ongoing national camp in Goa.

The duo is currently injured and as per advice from their club Dempo SC have not reported to the camp. The fate of the duo would be decided by the AIFF's disciplinary committee ahead of the start of the Federation Cup next month.

The Goans had advised their two defenders to do their rehabilitation at their club and thereafter join the India camp, if they were injury free before the end of the camp.

After the AIFF Emergency Committee today meeting General Secretary Alberto Colaco said, "The All India Football Federation's emergency committee today suspended Gawli and Naik and the matter has been further referred to the disciplinary committee."

If any action would be taken against Dempo would have to be seen by the national federation.
