The draw for the 2010 editions of AFC Champions League and AFC Cup will take place on December 7, 2009 at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur.

The draw for the second-tier AFC Cup 2010 will be held ahead of that of the AFC Champions League on that day.

The I-League champions and the Federation Cup winners will be once again participating, but if current I-League champions Churchill Brothers SC will be allowed to take part in the AFC Champions League qualifiers or will have to play along with Federation Cup winners in the AFC Cup will be announced soon by the continental body AFC.

With the new strict critiria in place since this year it will be a tough ask for an Indian club to play in the Champions League, but if Churchill Brothers are allowed to at least play in the qualifiers like Dempo SC earlier this year, it at least would be a chance for our Indian champions.

Both competitions will have 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams with the two top from each group qualifying for the knockout pre-quarterfinals.
