Chirag United is all set to sign Ausralian player Keegan Nash to fill-up their Asian representative spot in their I-League squad.

The inclusion of the Australian defender will definitely bolster the back-four of Chirag. The club has applied for the international clearance for the footballer and it is very likely that the new star will be available for the first match.

Nash will be joining Chirag from Adelaide City FC, which is a club playing in the South Australian Super League. They played in the National Soccer League (NSL) for 27 Seasons but withdrew just prior to the 2003/2004 season.

Coach Subrata Bhattacharya exuded confidence in the new recruit: "He is a big-bodied guy, very agile and he will be a good match with seasoned Du."

Another footballer who is all but set to sign for Chirag is Ishant Mohanto. Mohanto hails from California, while his mother has an Indian passport and his father's roots are from West Bengal. The midfielder has also caught the imagination of the coach and officials and has duly applied for the PIO card.

But the biggest surprise could be the possible signing of Brazilian player Edmilson. The rejected striker from East Bengal is willing to give it back very strongly on the ground. He expressed his desire to sign for a lesser sum of money.

Chirag United officials are very keen to sign on Edmilson but coach Subrata Bhattacharya is reluctant. Actually Subrata Bhattacharya doesn't have happy memories about Edmilson when he handled him during his tenure as an East Bengal coach.

All set and done, Chirag is slowly and silently forcing together a combination which will definitely help them to achieve their motto of a higher finish in the I-league.

Chirag will start of their campaign against last year's runners-up Mohun Bagan AC on October 5.
