Sporting Clube de Goa are looking to sign an European coach to take the club forward.
Nigerian Clifford Chukwama, who has been attached to Sporting Clube for a number of years in different positions, has been shown the door by the Flaming Orange as he lacked the necessary qualifications. And now the club is looking to bring in a European coach in the new season, but the management is not pushing things as they want to sign the right man for the job.
Speaking to Kanzil Rodrigues club owner Peter Vaz confirmed the search for a European coach with 'A' licence holder Ekendra Singh still being involved with the coaching affairs of the first team.
One of the coaches in the running for the job is Portuguese coach of Indian origin Roy Barreto, who has coached in Zimbabwe and South Africa. And last season actually coached for a few month at the Mohun Bagan-SAIL Football Academy in Durgapur, West Bengal. But the club is also talking to other coaches and hoped to have a new coach in the coming month of July.
